The Mansfield Area Y’s indoor pool facility, featuring a four-lap pool for recreational and competitive swimmers, a 10-person hot tub, lazy river, a 140-foot slide and a wading area with play features for young children, is the lifeblood of our Y complex on Scholl Road in Mansfield. But after more than 18 years of continuous use, our pool natatorium is in critical need of a major renovation at a cost of $285,000. The Mansfield Area Y is raising funds in support of our major pool renovation work to be completed in 2018, extending the life expectancy of our pool for many more years of service.
The major renovation plans for our pool include resurfacing the entire pool shell and repairing the pool tiles and the concrete deck surrounding the pool. We will upgrade our mechanical room, paint our water play features, and add new lane ropes and lifeguard chairs. As well, we will repaint all of the pool natatorium walls, which will refresh the entire facility. This major renovation work costing $285,000 will alleviate our routine annual maintenance costs in the future.
With a full schedule of open swim times, aquatic classes, child and adult swimming lessons, water safety skills and lifeguard training, and water rehabilitation therapy, our pool truly is the heart of our community Y.

ABOUT THE MANSFIELD AREA Y
The Mansfield Area Y is one of 2,700 community-focused YMCA's serving 10,000 communities across the United States, working side-by-side with our neighbors to mobilize our local communities to effect lasting and meaningful change. Established in 1867, our mission is to help build a community where all people, both young and old, are encouraged to develop their fullest potential in spirit, mind, and body. We serve a membership of about 10,000 children and adults but we impact many more Richland County families through our community-focused programming and goodwill.
