Simply read the enclosed Mansfield Area Y Endowment Brochure and explore the possibilities and opportunities for creative gift planning.
We at the Y are delighted to share these giving options with you and are hopeful it might help you consider the many options available when dealing with your accumulated estate.
The brochure will cover wills, living trusts, life insurance, real estate, stock and charitable trusts. It does not cover any plan in detail because each individual’s estate is different. We’re hopeful you will find one or more options that you want to consider and discuss with your professional financial advisor.
Once you make a gift to the Mansfield Area Y Endowment Fund, you automatically become a lifetime member of the Heritage Club.
I know people wonder why the Y needs an Endowment Fund when we already have income from membership and program fees and run the We Build People Annual Support Campaign to provide financial assistance, community development and current needs. The answer is easy “guaranteed growth.” The Endowment Fund pays out interest every year, in good economic times and bad. It provides stable support for the Y programs that rely on your contributions to survive.
With your gift, we can continually generate reliable, substantial income and successfully carry out our mission-oriented programs and services today and in the future.

The Y Heritage Club is composed of special individuals from all backgrounds, communities and walks of life who have made an outright or planned gift to the Y endowment fund in one of the following ways:
In this way, each member not only benefits from the good that will be done but current income tax savings.
If you choose to contribute such items as stock or property owned
for longer than one year, you would receive a charitable deduction equal to the current value of the assets while avoiding capital gains taxes.
Naming the Y as a primary or even secondary beneficiary of your insurance policy
paves the way for a large future gift. Should you wish to contribute a life insurance policy that is no longer
needed to protect current beneficiaries, you could realize
substantial income tax deductions.
You may wish to consider including the Y in your will or living trust. In this way, a fixed amount, specific asset or percentage of your estate may be set aside as bequests and qualify for estate tax deductions.
Creating a charitable trust or annuity provides life income for yourself and/or others. With all or a portion of your gift eventually dedicated to the Y, you could receive a charitable deduction.
